01/Overview

Flight search that shows the full price up front, bags included, and explains every trade-off in one line.

Skyroute shows one price per flight: the price you will actually pay, with the bags you told it you need. No drip pricing, no pre-ticked extras.

Results are ranked by a transparent “best” score and each option explains its trade-off in a sentence — “€26 cheaper, but a 3-hour layover in Madrid”.

A price calendar shows the cheapest nearby dates, and the boarding pass lands in the phone wallet automatically.

03/Jury verdict

In the jury’s words.

Skyroute shows the price you will actually pay. In this category, that alone is a design achievement.

07/Case study

From problem to proof.

The challenge

Travellers compared prices that weren’t comparable: bags, seats and fees appeared only at checkout, and trust in flight search was at an all-time low.

The approach

Lumo Labs asked for bags and flexibility up front and priced everything accordingly, then explained each ranking in a single human sentence.

Research

  • Booking diaries

40 travellers across 2 holiday seasons

  • Price-comprehension tests

    8 layouts, 320 participants

  • Competitive benchmark

    12 booking sites, 60 tasks

Key insights

  1. 01

The first price people see becomes the price they expect to pay.

  2. 02

“Best” is trusted only when it explains itself.

  3. 03

Asking about bags early feels helpful, not intrusive.

Known gaps

  • Date picker is not fully operable with a screen reader
  • Price calendar conveys cheapest days by colour only
