01/Overview

Telehealth that gets you from symptom to clinician in minutes, with live transcripts and plain-language follow-ups.

Ostara Care is a telehealth service for people who postpone care because it doesn’t fit into their day. Booking takes under a minute, and most patients see a clinician the same day.

Consultations are transcribed live, so patients can re-read what was said instead of trying to remember it. Afterwards, a plain-language summary lists what was agreed, what to watch for, and when to follow up.

Clinicians were part of the design team from day one; the clinician view was built with the same care as the patient app.

03/Jury verdict

In the jury’s words.

Putting the transcript at the heart of the consultation is an accessibility decision that turned out to help everyone. Ostara Care respects both the patient’s time and their memory.

07/Case study

From problem to proof.

The challenge

Patients forgot most of what a clinician told them within hours, and booking flows asked for insurance details before showing a single available slot.

The approach

Helix & Co. inverted the booking flow — availability first, paperwork last — and designed the transcript and summary as the product’s centrepiece rather than an add-on.

Research

  • Clinician co-design

9 GPs and 4 psychiatrists in 12 workshops

  • Patient interviews

36 patients, including 10 with chronic conditions

  • Comprehension testing

Summary readability tested at CEFR B1, n=80

Key insights

  1. 01

Seeing a time slot early is what turns intent into a booking.

  2. 02

Patients want to re-read the conversation, not a clinical report.

  3. 03

Clinicians adopt tools that save them typing, not tools that add fields.

Outcomes

  • +64%

  • −31%
